Default Team Check Point station

Im in need of a new solder station and saw these on the Tower Hobbies site. What do you guys think of these? http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXATBK&P=ML

Or should I just get a Hakko FX-888

I've got the Team Checkpoint version of the Trak Power that you linked to, love it! If I ever get some spare nickels to get some shop supplies, I do plan on ordering a few more sponges, but the iron itself is great. Lots of heat makes for some quick soldering. I've rebuilt half a dozen battery packs, and changed over several connectors (to TRX) with it.

No experience with the Hakko, sorry. Never heard from anyone who's used one, either.

I have the Team Checkpoint iron, and I love it. I have used the Hakko iron too, and I couldn't see any difference between the two. Both irons work great.

As stated, very happy with my Team checkpoint, works great on Deans plugs and never had an issue with it.

There was life before the Team Checkpoint solding station. It was cold, and full of bad soldering.

Now, I wouldnt solder without it.

That Team Checkpoint is a nice soldering station. It's basically a rebranded Hakko 936.
