I get them at a local place called Tacoma Screws. I think I paid like $4-5 for a 100 count of 6-32 bolts and nuts. bought 50 count of 8-32 with nylon nuts and paid like $3 for it.
since I have your "Project" would you want to add some screws to the mix or do you need it now. We can set up something if you need it now.
Or look in your phone book under industrial supplies and services. If your in CA you should have someone close that has this stuff cheaper than Lowes. I pay at least half of what lowes charges.

Prices are competative and shipping for under $100 is fixed at $5.00 and $8.00 for over $100.

I mostly use Hexcrews. They're strong & pretty inexpensive. They have plated screws now too, but they cost a bit more than their black oxide stuff.

If you need 3mm hardware you can also order Tamiya hardware bags from your LHS. The clod hardware bags come with quite a bit of 3mm stuff.

I found out that my local ACE Hardware has all of that stuff. They have countersunk stainless, regular steel countersunk, regular stuff. I mean everything you could ask for, even grub screws! They also stock up to 3/4" grade 8 bolts of every size! Granted they are expensive though. They want like $.40 for a 3mmX20mm countersunk cheap screw...Yeah like that happens.
