this evening... McMaster has 3/16th, as well as 1/4. I do believe its what rckjeep used on his Toyota truggy.

It's not so much as to what is strongest, but what is easier to work with. If designed properly, anything can be strong.

Go with brakeline

Brakeline would the easiest, if you can braze well enough and get the bends and joints done right then it will be lighter and srtonger. If you think it needs some more strength in a certain spot then cut and braze. I have made a ute style tuber out of stainless

and a buggy style out brakline with alloy panels

and the brakeline one is a quarter of the weight and just as strong.
