Exclamation i need a template to make 4 link plate for axial ax10

i want to make my own 4 link plates for my axial ax10 and i have the experience and tools but i need a pattern to trace because i dont already a 4 link front and rear plate to trace and dont know anyone that has one i can copy and nor do i have the exprience to creat my own because i dont know where the holes for the shocks should be placed to get the maximum performance out of the ax10. i want one for the front and rear. if anyone has a template or knows where i can find a template please post it i dont find it worth it to pay what one cost when if i can find a template i can do it myself for nothing and in probably a hours time.

The Manta is Offroader5's design. I've made a couple, and supersized another when I last rebuilt my now long-dead super class rig.

I might have a Manta build thread in the ax10 section...don't really remember. There still might be pics in the Tmaxx section of my MegaManta but its been a long time since I've looked there either.

FYI: it is not a comp legal chassis. Dimensionally it is too small.

I have the original ax10 kit. When I 4 linked it I used the extra servo plate and drilled two holes in it and counter sunk the holes and threw it out back. Batta Bing! 4link on the cheap

I personally have never made the Manta either but I have made quite a few chassis with a drill press, hack saw and some patience. Duuude has a good thread for those of us without CNC access, like me One idea would be to take the drill pattern from it and translate that to a larger, comp legal chassis and your set or just run it as a "bare bones" chassis with a shell on top. Skies the limit

That being said take your time and you never know what you may come up with

What did you use for links? Did you use the stock llnk? If so, did it change pinion angle?

CHUD, Manta, and I have templates posted old ones...very simple and work.

You want "better" you won't find templates. It's not hard to make at all.

when i needed to make link plates for my axial axle....i used masking tape on the 1/8" alum and just pressed the top tubes on there axle housing to imprint the tape where those holes need to be drilled and designed a plate around those holes....

That's a great idea. Could be used for several other apllications.

The masking tape idea is a great tip. Forgot all about that one. Perfect timing also, solved a problem for me. Thanks
