Default RMDW's "The Bead Vise"

I know this has been a long time thing going on as far as getting beads set on some tires and wheels...Im done dealing beads and trying to hold the tire and wheel and control the foams etc...Here's my "BEAD VISE"

Simply set the inner bead first...then mount the wheel/tire to the vise using a wheel nut and spacers if needed...set the Beading Ring on top and hook the chains...work the tire bead into the wheel and install the Bead Lock ring and hardware...it can sit for days like this...in the event something happens and I have to stop mounting wheels for some reason.

Very cool Thomas...I use the mason jar lid trick, but this frees up both hands. Good idea

Thanks Guys...it works great...the tire in the pic was in the vise for about twenty minutes...mounted it up...took a couple of pictures..did a couple of other things and came back and finished mounting the bead ring afterward...makes mounting tires a breeze.

Good thinkin'

I've been meaning to do something similar with a bolt and a weight, just to have something beefy to hold the wheel. But I hadn't thought of the ring and chains. That's good stuff.

Thanks..I used a stub shaft and wheel hex to secure the wheel and keep it from spinning too...it is very stout being all mig welded...the base is a 10# forged steel barbell plate...I mounted my bench vise to two of these 10 pounders to make a heavy vise so it wouldnt move around...both vise's work very well with the heavy base...and the parts were all extra stuff I had.

Here is how I mounted the bench vise...I added a steel plate to the top of the anvil shoulder and welded the K&S rod bender to the right side...the rod bender has been modified to bend 1/8" and 3/16" steel rod...there are two ground clamp points for grounding to the welder or the welder and table using a jump cable. I welded a piece of rod between the arcs of the plates behind the vise as a carry handle...its about 30#.
