Default Driveshaft question.

I'm running stock axial scx-10 driveshafts on my bronco. The rear shaft has a hairline crack on the very end of the shaft where the universal joint pin is held in place. I've been putting off buying a new one because I'm on a super budget right now and haven't bought much for my rc in a while. My question is, does anyone know of a way I could possibly fix this without having to buy a new one. I've tried using thin steel wire. "Twist ties for bread". They seem to work ok unless I pull the throttle really hard from a stop. After the thin wire failed multiple times I tried to melt the plastic back to repair the crack. I also used fishing line to help secure the universal joint to try to hold it down. This worked for a while until today when it broke. I'm really tired of having to pull the body of after every run to fix the same problem. Anyone have any ideas that could help me out. I was thinking about using glue but I don't think any kind of glue will stand up to the torque.

Nice stanmondz!
I have used these with success. They are brass compression sleeves for plumbing. $1.50 or so for a pair.
Good luck

Another way is to wrap the area tightly with thread and then thoroughly saturate the thread with thin super glue.

I have actually used unwaxed dental floss instead of thread. Waxed floss repels the CA.

MrJ., great idea....a lot easier to do than making something small & thin.
