| Brazing and soldering fillers?
Post up if you would like us to carry more fillers. We are looking at streamlining other inventory and bumping up joining material stocks.

I would like to see it. I live in a small town in Nevada. I can't just run down to the local welding shop. The nearest Home Depot (or Walmart) is over 180 miles away. In other words, I order everything online. As a bonus, I get to keep my business within the community. |

I can get anything you want, we get all our fillers custom blended already. The only catch is that a few fillers require minimums, but the majority of popular ones are easy to get. I've been holding off on the purchase while the USD strengthens and silver prices drop. We just submitted a new request today and will be purchasing this week. We have the following on our list: 45% or 54% silver brazing filler, .030" diameter 4% silver solder with rosin flux The braze flux is something I am going back and forth on carrying. It has a short shelf life unless the packaging is air tight (expensive), and can be replaced with regular Borax for a very cheap and easily available flux. Not quite as fancy as the NaF doped fluxes, but 100 times cheaper. What say you fabbers? |

You mentioned flux, are you referring to the stay-silv? If so the remedy is to add a little distilled water and stir it up. It has worked for me. |

stay-silv does include flux with their fillers. It is the NaF doped borax type. Still on the fence about providing the flux.

Got small diameter 56% silver fillers now http://holmeshobbies.com/56-Silver-Brazing-Filler.html We will have flux in a few days. Also have small diameter ROHS rosin core 4% silver solder on the way. It is the highest conductivity solder (easily available and affordable) that will melt with standard soldering equipment. We use it exclusively here for all work, and will be offering it at a price lower than current market costs. |

i use stay silv, and just add water when it dries up. looks like i finally have a hobby shop to buy my silver from now. i always got it from jewelry guys on ebay. thanks for this man. i use the skinny stuff like that too. it melts real fast if you get MAPP on it. so it take a different technique than the 1/16" stuff. but i like it. you can use much less if you are good with joints. |

Just got the jars for Flux and the 4% silver solder today, we will add them to the site asap. I figured if I love to use the stuff so much, other people would too. It does take a different method to use thin filler, but we should really be keeping filler out of the flame anyway. |
