Tube bending is complex and tube straightening is even more complex. There are too many variables associated with it and hence you are not finding a common perfect solution on the net.

1] What material do you want to straigthen?
2] What is the inside dia and outside dia of the tube?
3] What is the radius of the bend that you want to straighten?

3/16th brake line. And its just the roughly straight shape the brake shop sold it to me in.

I heard of one guy on here that would roll the piece between two pieces of plywood. That of course would depend on how long of a piece you would need. I've never tried it (I always buy pieces straight) but the plywood idea sounded like it would work.

Try CHUD's method. Seems the easiest way to do and I feel it will work.

Other method would be to use two vise side by side. First vise to grip the tube so that it does not rotate while debending and the second vise to put pressure on the bends to straighten them. But do add a bit of oil on the bend area so that the second vise does not leave marks on it.

Flat wood & rolling the tubing can work, sorta also depends on how straight you want it as well as length (as CHUD mentioned).

Plans??..... nope, but there is this picture that can spawn ideas... http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/tools...aightener.html

I have taken rolled up tubing (copper and steel line both) and clamped one end in my vise smashing it real good and tight. Then take a slide hammer and build an attachment to use vice grips with it. Clamp it good and tight on the other end of your line and then slide hammer it straight. Cut off the smashed ends and go on your merry way.
