| Scroll saw help
I picked up a scroll saw from Harbor Freight. The blades that come with it don't seem to cut 1/8" aluminum angle very well. What other blades should I be looking for specifically? It has the pinned 5" blades. I looked at Home Depot and everything they have seems to be lower tooth count specifically for wood. I'm guessing what i need is a higher tooth count (20-25 tpi)? |

i use ryobi blades on mine fine or medium i'm not too sure how many teeth per inch but the medium one works really good if you go slow, blade speed and pressure. i cut my rear shock mount from my d-trail with a scroll saw, i think that the angle alum. i used was thicker than 1/8". the blade lasts pretty long, just dont try to cut stainless or hardened and you should be okay. oh BTW let the blade catch up to where you are trying to push to,you'll see the blade flex and slow down, thats when you release pressure til it catches up. |

I just finished up with the hacksaw. I've got to replace the blade so I can finish working on some stuff today. The pack I bought had 4 or 5 in there, and it was fairly cheap (under $8 I seem to remember). | |

I have delta that uses plain end blades. I often use the minature hacksaw blades and coping saw blades. The mini hacksaw blades have pins and are the right length for mine so they may work for you. They are quite a bit wider like a 1/4 inch so they dont mind the thicker aluminum and cut straight really good. The coping saw blades work well too but there lower tooth count and not quite as wide maybe an 1/8th. Maybe this can help you sometime
