| Trailer and frame supplies
Living here in Alaska you have look at all the stuff to see what you can build with it or just save it till later. Well that is how I came upon trailer parts or could be used for a truck frame as well. First is for the trailer decking. I have seen a few people use it and pay 10 bucks or so for the stuff, it is expanded metal. Well you do not have to pay for it......well sorta. It is used and I bet everyone has one or two that they can use. You can get the expanded metal from.......Air Filters Round filters can provide some smaller runner type strips. Or window covers. The square/rectangle ones can almost do the whole deck. Or you can go to a big rig truck shop and get air filters from them. Most of them will have expanded metal on the inside and out. Next is the frame for the trailer and maybe for a truck frame. It is from a "crane lamp", it my be called somthing else but that is what I call it. Depending on the lamp you find you can get about 6 feet of usable 1/4" square tubing. I have found them at garage sales and second hand stores for about 2 bucks each. Have fun Steve |

Well I found another idea for a trailer frame. I was storlling the isles of my local LHS (Local Hardware Store) As the closest real LHS is 900 miles away. Any way I found a paint bucket grid. They come in a few sizes. The one I picked up was 10"X13" @ $1.70 each They also have some at 14X17 @ $2.50 But they where out of those. I think they would make a great trailer with a little modifying and ad wheels and a hitch. |
