| Getting frustrated... Need some help
or just ideas. I'm cutting some .5" square tubing. Well now I need to cut 2 angles on one piece on differnet planes. Example: I have one angle that will drop at an agle of 120* down and another that goes toward the middle 110*. Now I have basic tools. Cut of saw, jig, grinder, drimel and some other stuff. My cut off saw is only 0* to 45*, not a problem as I can free hand it. My solution so far is this. I need to make a plate (or something) that will cut one of the angle verticly while I can use the cut off saw to cut it horizontally (or vise versa). Any one have another solution as this will be a little pain in the arse. By the way I hate working with angles. I was never really good a math anyway. a band saw would be nice to help with some of the same type of problems that will require a more difficult set of cuts 4 different planes. Thanks for any suggestions or help. |

when i was playing around with trying to make a tuber i got an angle finder at home depot, it was like 5 bucks or somthing for a small one. figure your angle and cut a jig out of wood or a 2x4 or somthing. dont know if this helps at all but ive used it in the past for cutting numerous unknown or odd angles oh, this may be simple but, if you ultimatly want to pieces to meet together at an angle, each piece needs to be cut at half the desired angle. say you want the 2 pieces to meet in a 45, then each end will need to be cut to 22.5 angle Last edited by Thorsteenster; 12-14-2006 at 11:30 AM. |

I just got back from getting an angle finder. To find my angles before I would draw them on a piece of paper or computer find the middle metting point draw a line through it to get the correct angle. Should be easier with the angle finder now. |
