Default Diy chassis warped like banana

So I tried to make a straight rail truck chassis from 1/2 inch square steel tubing. When I finished the rip cut, both sides were warped in all sorts of directions. Cut on HF portable band saw at low speed.

What gives?

Oboy, trying to remember all my steel theory from many years ago. Might be right or might be wrong, maybe I can get someone who is more up to date on this stuff than I am to respond for you. If I recall correctly, the steel rolling process imparts internal stresses which, when you split the tubing, causes it to "warp" to its "unstressed" state, thus warped in whichever direction becomes the natural state. Most steel square and rectangular tubing is rolled from round pipe or tubing, it is not a natural steel process to be able to roll square or rectangular tubing. I know many people use this method to do homemade frame rails and I haven't seen anything posted about this particular situation.
That's about all I can think of at the moment

All metal warps when it gets hot when you cut the metal the part your cutting gets hot and warps thats just metal try heating it up and gently work it back in to shape with a hammer maybe cut it in a vice or heating the metal before cuting it heat helps.relax the metal and sharp soft whacks with a hammer also helps relive stress thats one reason you smack a freshly welded part with a hammer while its cooling it relaxes the metal as its cooling and has less chance of cracking
You should.be able.to straighten it out with patiance heat and a hammer some vice grips
If you domt have a torch just stick it in the oven on broil and that should be enuff heat to straighten it out just make sure its heated evenly
