While I am a longtime Bosch user (and still using a horrifically overpowered GSR12V) I would recommend to people something 4 volt, like a Ryobi HP54L. I've had one of the original Ryobi TEK4 drivers for years, and it works great. It's a shame Ryobi pretty much abandoned that TEK4 platform-- I still have the matching infrared thermometer, which comes in equally handy for temping motors and ESCs. Regardless of what driver you go for, make sure it has removable batteries. My original Bosch Impactor (from 2006? Earlier?) still chugs along, but its original batteries are long gone. Hell, the replacements for it's original batteries are long gone. |

I purchased the Dewalt DCF680N2 years back for $100. Works great to this day and the clutch is fine enough it’s safe for plastic. I held out for a while, but when working on my Bomber repeatedly removing the cage and such I caved and spent the cash. https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWALT-8...80N2/204473425 |

I've tested a few, as I had the fortunate situation to verify torque with a calibration tool. After many... I stuck with this. https://www.amazon.com/Genesis-GLSD0...84D1QQXH&psc=1 The lowest level of torque applied will not strip most RC screws, even on micro-scale. I want to say the lowest setting was around 1 inch pound. It's basically a screwdriver designed for RC use. |
