I can't imagin telling someone who wants to learn how to weld to TIG. MIG is the easiest to learn, a monkey could probably do it! Its PLENTY strong for building a tuber. Its NOT a fullsize rig, your life is NOT in the hands of the cagework. Get a Hobart MIG. they run nice beads! If you can't afford that. Any cheapy will work just fine for buildin tubers and small work. I built the wheelchair with a $5 garage sale MIG that had no stinger. I took a tip off my other welder, couple brass fittings, and BAM! $5 welder I been using for years! There are atleast 10 exhaust systems out there that have been welded up with it aswell... couple railing jobs here and there.... Just made $200 today with my $5 welder fixing some railing. Get a MIG, Arc is REALLY hard to weld small stuff though I have done it. | |

So would this be like a tarnished "Holy Grail"? It is a TIG, and an ARC welder for $260, but it is from Harbor Freight.
