Default braze brakeline to.....

hey guys,
i was wondering what all i can braze brake line too. i looking for like flat sheets of metal to make brackets out of. what kind of material can i brake brake line too? thanks in advance!

I know you can to steel and brass, never tried coper though. I know you can braze copper but not sure if you can braze it to steel.

how about galvanized steel?!?! looks like ill have to go on the hunt for like 1/16 sheet steel. thanks guys. anything else that people know about?

I wouldn't recomend taking a torch to Galvanized steel. Unless you sand or chemically remove all the galvanized coating off it first. The fumes from the coating are extremely toxic. But, any other steel should be fine.

i new that the fumes where toxic, i was just wondering if it made a difference from like welding it. thanks guys, ill have to go find me some sheet steel!

the galvanizing makes not difference when brazing. soak the part in some muriatic acid before brazing to remove the coating. for very small coated parts such as nuts and bolts, I just braze it and try not to breathe
