If you are a clod owner with a weak stomach, look away. That being said, I've been bitten by the shafty bug and sold all my clods. Don't get me wrong I still appreciate them, but the mechanical adventure dealing with a shaft drive is so much more fun to build around (and mess up.) So anyways I had a whole lot of clod stuff lying around including a pristine Clodzilla III chassis. This is what its turned into after about a half hour of screwing around. Just wondering what everyone thought. Terry Last edited by CrawlnSlow; 09-26-2005 at 11:39 PM. |

Thats not a shoe. That is a truck rest. Like the chassis design. What happen to the pics?

Work kept me very occupied this week so progress was slow. I basically did all the fab tonight and got most of it done. Only thing left is the steering and electronics. Woot. |

Looks good. I would probably position the shocks so they are parallel to each other. And maybe some high clearance lower links.

I'm definately raising the links a little. This was basically a test fit setup to make sure it works. As for the shocks, that little angle works great because it follows the natural track of the articulation so it flows very smoothly ( suprisingly the toque twist is minimal to none.)

The tlt parts were actually found in the local bashing grounds around here. I think someone smashed into a tree and just didn't feel like cleaning the husk of a truck up. My tlt's are all safe.

I like the lay out but does it have good flex? it just does not look like you have much travel in those front shocks. I have been thinking of buying a smashed up E-/\/\Axx off ebay or something, and buying it off a custom frame, just trying to get ideas Just seems dumb to me to buy a 300$+ rig and then cut it all to hell, want to find one that someone broke in half and is selling for cheap and all the electronics and motors still work... ect Thanks |

well i was just thinking the opposite.. looks like he has plenty of twist, maybe a bit too much by just guessing.seems the way they are mounted, it would just have that floppiness to it.but thats just guessing from looking at pics..no matter what size shock you run, it all depends on how you mount it. I can get as much travel from a maxx shock as i could with my savage shocks on.. truck looks good though, keep it up |

suprizingly it isn't floppy at all. Those are little 3" shocks from inet and it winds up at about 70 deg. It works for me and now hopefully will satisfy nyslint expert.
