Default I've caught the Maxx bug!

when i first started checking out this site last february, i was converting my TLT into a stretched out crawler. i've had a lot of fun building and running it. now it's time to build a big rig.

i've never owned a maxx before because i was never impressed with what i saw. you know, blasting off of jumps at high speeds only to land wheels up everytime(at least all the ones i have seen.) so when i first saw the 'maxx crawlers' thread, i was pretty skeptical until i kept reading about them and seeing what you maxx guys can do with them.

i really don't want to build a clod, i just like the shaft driven trucks. seeing the GC you can get with the maxx axles is very impressive! i'll buy an e-maxx from ebay or a brand new one and strip it of the parts i need. i'm thinking about getting the mantis chassis, so any feedback on that(i've read about it here too)would be appreciated. i'll be posting maxx questions as they arrive, so please be patient. and yes, i will use the search button.

eclipse,
do you have pics, or a link to pics for that chassis?

also, since i know nothing about e-maxxes, what is the difference between a e-maxx and a 2.5 e-maxx? and can i use 2 front axle assemblies on a maxx crawler? the reason i ask is because i see complete front 2.5 maxx axles for sale on ebay and i'm wondering if i can use them with the mantis. i also see e maxx trannies for sale too, which would save me from buying a whole maxx.

thanks guys!
