Default If you were building a.......

tuber frame for maxx crawler with a wheel base around 17", would you use 3/16" or 1/4" brake line? I see that there are mixed reviews on this. What do you think and why?

Thanks

1/4" for big trucks like a maxx with a 17" wheelbase, 3/16" for smaller trucks like a TLT or 2.2 clod.

I agree, 3/16 is plenty strong if you build it right.

I went 1/4" and looks and works as it should. I have similar specs as you as well.

See what I mean mixed reviews .... I think I can build it to where it would be strong enough, but I really want to give it a "kind of scale" look. I just wasn't sure if 1/4" tubing looked too bulky? If that makes any sence? I think I might finally get started this weekend The bulk of my parts came in yesterday (TR2, Revo knuckles/shafts, GD600....ect.)

Thanks for the input

Well if 3/16 looks scale on a 12" wheel base truck it probably wont look scale on a 17" wheel base truck

so your saying this doesn't look scale?

16 1/2" WB

It depends on the design you have as to what material you are gonna use also. Noway I could have used 1/4" line on dougs truck. It would have been to bulky to put everything in it's place.besides, why add the extra bit of weight, when ya don't need to

RcBro, thanks for the pics. I just had a hard time picturing it. I think that I will go with the 1/4" tube since I already have some laying around. Can't wait to get started

Geez, you guys aren't making this any easier. You just don't understand how hard it is for me to get started on this rig....I am too much of a darn perfectionist. Everything has to be just right!!!

Oh yeah, thanks for everyone posting

also, you can look at post # 9 and post # 20 in the maxx gallery. Those 2 tubers have 1/4" line.. The other ones on that first page have 3/16"

Thanks Twisted, after looking at those pictures I have decided to go with 3/16". I think that for myself personally that the smaller tube gives it that "scale look". When I get some progress on the new build I will post up some pics.
