| Maxx axles... To jacked?
I'm starting my first Maxx crawler (my second crawler) ... I have all my brackets made and its time to make my lock out links. I've read in a few threads that say to lock the arms on as much of an angle as possible. do most of you feel this is true?... with a small mod on the top arm I was able to get a pretty good angle on the arms (with no binding)... Does this seem like to much of an angle?... Is there a perfect angle these should be set at?... Any help would be great |

from building and experimenting with my rig I think you might be going a little extreme.

Sorry to high jack the thread for a minute but can somone explain to me why you do this to a crawler? Lock axle is the name I think. I searched and can't find nothing on it so could someone please explain this to me??? Does it just keep the axles from going up and down, and do I still use the shocks with this?

No one is using this setup on a stock e-maxx. You lock the suspension to give you extra center differential clearance, and then use it as a solid axle, with a 4-link suspension.

You need to drop those suckers down a bit. That'll be a tippy ride. If you do plan to keep the angles that steep, I want to see how you will address the steering issue Building a bent tierod will be about the only option but those tend to stop working after about 5-6 runs, then things get sloppy. |
