I have seen that you really like the Maxx's for crawlers. I was just wondering, do you lock the axles down into solid axles? It looks like you do, but from several of the pics I have seen, it is hard to tell.

I'm not TOYO but yes when building a maxx crawler you lock the axles out with some droop to give you awesome under diff clearence.

I only like them because I have too Maxx's are the future to RC Crawling..... oh yes... they will be Yes, we lock out the A-arms. We have put plenty of time and money into a very effective setup. Here you can see our shop trucks rear ... it's rear loack out setup.

Toyo, how do you keep axle shafts alive in those things? When I had my Maxx crawler, I would snap the plastic srock shafts in 5 minutes, even snapped CVD's, so now it just sits on the shelf... |

Don't run plastic junk We highly suggest a high end CVD to be used in the Maxx trucks, otherwise you will be busting stuff. REVO shafts are an almost must for driveshafts as well. I've seen Sean put the shop truck into some nasty bound up spots and it'll just work it's way through.... I'll bit my lip every time to.

I think Maxx's are the future too. That is why I have been trying to think outside the box.

It appears that you are not setting the maxx suspension to it's full "droop" or angle for clearence. Is there some sort of side effect if you do this? I figured everyone would have the maxx setup in a /--\ style? Giving your best clearance under the front and rear.

You want to be able to turn with out it binding from the axle shafts down at the knuckles. Plus the pictures are a bit deciving, most the Maxx trucks are "Maxx'ed" out in the A-arms... just hard to see. With our kit we seriously recomend a high end set of CVD's or breakage will happen.

Hey Toyo what CVD do you prefer? Do you like the RD logics stuff or do you stick to the tryed and true MIP CVD?

I can say a big to RD Logics. If they bend or break, they do not stand behind the products they produce. Besides that they are too soft and bend very easily. If they don't bend the cv's explode. I would go with any other brand that offers hardened shafts.

So far it seems as if the MIP CVD's are holding up the best. No breakage of them yet.

Good I have a set of the Shiny MIP CVD's sitting here. I plan to put them in tomarrow along with my diff spools. The way I look at it is the MIP stuff is easy to find rebuild stuff for if I break a pin or somthing.
