Thats so clean lookin.. really good fabrication work. what kind of tubing are you useing. Brazing or welding it?

thanks im a pure welder cant stand brazing. it cold roled steel for now but im getting my welder set up for alluminuim so i will be making every thing out of aluminuim soon. |

Cool.. same as me.. Yea i thought about building a cage out of AL. It would be a lot lighter, I just suck at welding that stuff. I need some more practice. Keep up the good work over there.

i dont think it would be to light people run gecko clods and there is almost no weight there at all. the main problem is welding the stuff but if you have the proper equipment its not that hard. i weld so much because i just cant stop fabricating so it seems easy to me. what welders are you guys sporting? |

I own a lincon electric(mig), and I use a miller syncrowave (tig) at work.

Do they make some sort of small "hobby" welder that can handle small projects like this? I mean, you wouldnt need a big 220 Miller for this. Something that wouldnt break the bank would be cool to have.

you can get a small flux core welder but you will have some splater. that is why alot of people use MIG. you can pick up a low end welder for about $150.00 on ebay. i just droped $800 on mine.

Harbor freight has some real cheap one that should work for what we all do. Mine was $600, and its overkill for the cages, but I also did my toyota mods with it. Its nice to have the power, cuz if one of those welds break I might not be able to post anymore.

im going to see what i can do to this maxx to make it better. dont have anything better to do so what the hell. the sniper is going cantilever i need long trail with a short shock, scrap the chassis for a full cage custom front and rear trail arms, some special drive shafts, off course 4ws and get some skinny ass tires were going walker biatch. |
