summit front end weights?? does anyone make weights to mount to the front end of the summit for better climbing? yea i know i can add lead but i wanted something that looked more finished. |
Re: summit front end weights?? Demount the tire and put the weights inside the rim or better yet buy a second set of front tires and rims and weight the new ones. Use the normal set for high speed bashing and the weighted set for crawling. Weighted tires are hell on the drive line at 25MPH |
Re: summit front end weights?? This thread has a pic of the knuckle weights I made in case you are inspired to make your own. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/traxx...e-weights.html On a Summit, adding weight to the wheels adds quite a bit of stress to an already marginal drivetrain. Also, if you ever drive it very fast, wheel weights will throw off your wheel balance a lot. You can always add weight to the chassis/body, but then it's up high and will affect handling. Really, the best places to add weight are to the knuckles themselves, or to the lower control arms. |
