Default My Maxx Build

Hello. This is my first partial build. I bought the chassis, axles, links, and servo mounts. So far I have put on the shocks, tires, wheels, and the rear steering links. I've got the tranny just sittin' in there. The tranny is locked into 1st gear. It has just under a 17 inch wheelbase. Its about 17 inches wide tire to tire. It has 6 inches of ground clearnce. Its 8 inches high to the top of the chassis. It will have mostly stock electronics. Its got Moab XLs on aluminum wheels. Not sure of what servos I'm gonna' run, but I'm currantly watching two HS-705MG servos on ebay that I'm hoping to get.
I have two Jhonson 550 motors in the mail. As of now it will have 9 tooth pinions, witch will probably be replaced by 6 tooth pinions. For body wise I'm just using the bodies that I've got lying around the shop for now. What I have left to do is to mount the tranny, electronics, and mod my tq3 for independent rear steering. Any suggestions on how to do that? On to the pics!

***UPDATE***

All I have to do now is order a 6 tooth pinion and put the spur back on!! Oh, I also got my body, it is a Parma Ford Bronco body painted blue with a stinger from a 1/6 Nylint and a winch from a Jeep Rubicon body. I will get pics up as soon as possible.

ThanX,
Krystopher

I now have a modded TQ3 on the way! Soon I will have two servos here also. I'm expecting to have this thing up and running in about two weeks.

Looks good Toph . I think you are on the right track with this one.

You can use 11/4" aluminum c-channel to mount your tranny. if you mount it motor up, it will be a little top heavy. to lower your cg you can mount the tranny sideways, but it will be a bit more difficult to mount.

Keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing it crawl.

Ok I haven't updated this forum for a while. I now have the tranny mounted, servos are also mounted [witch are Hitec 805bb servos], and the motor is in. I'll try to get pics up as soon as possible.

Yes I got the Gd600. But I think I'm just going to use it for my X-Factor build and get a 55T lathe for this. I need to use the Johnson 550s for the Hummer because I just got back from a construction site with a broken rear rod end and the motors on it are shot. On to the pics!!

I might, but I'm not sure. My dad works 2-10 that week, so if I can come my mom will have to bring me up. If all goes well I'll be able to come. Thanks Wingin' It, but I didn't make the chassis I bought the chassis with the axles and links from another member on this site.

I also have a scaler, and i remember that at the first comp there were none. But I don't know if I can bring it to the comp in it's prior stage. I just got an update from the parents, I'll probably be able to come to the comp!! Now I gotta' get the scaler running.
