Trx4m paint ideas/suggestions

Got busy with a Defender build kit..has styrene bed and with slight modifications was able to keep full exocage..getting to paint and detail stages and looking for that color to pull it all together.

LR factory bronze-green, mid-welsh grey, or pastel green are all favorites of mine if going with oem colors ( available ready to thin if using airbrush). If not there's likely something out there close to those colors... might have to use a combination of colors and/ or backers though. I would stay away from greys or tans ( factory or otherwise). I also feel like yellow camel trophy in all it's variations has been way overdone. Most bright oranges, reds, blues, etc take away from the vintage and more rugged appearance. And that body just looks like it needs some old-time color.

Following. I too have the same body and planning on chopping the back half of the cab off.

I like what the @drifter^^^ is saying above. I'd like to go factory color with weathering, but not sure which shade.

Thanks for the replies and thoughts..much to consider. I usually just whip out colors and combo's on paint with no issue but I'm really liking the way this is coming out so I don't want to F it up with paint.
Really want to use my Black Rhino rims which are a goldish-bronze alloy so that throws a monkey wrench in the whole process also.

The more I look at it, the more I imagine it in a Jungle expedition. Perhaps a jungle camo theme?

Tamiya has a few dark greens if you wanted to go that route. You said you have gold/ bronze wheels. That would look killer. Darker color like that would also look good if you weren't wanting to do too much weathering.

Well, I kept the paint simple this time..went with a color inline to Defender namesake. Still have a bit of detail work to complete on rig and trailer and also took another sacrificed exocage and made a bed rack also. Was worried a darker color wouldn't show much of the black cage assembly.
This is attached to a rig I already have so i will try the beadlock rims I want to use once the tires arrive. Eventually it will get beat up on the rocks

Holy schmokes, that's nice. Great detailing/ accessorizing on both but that trailer really steals the show.

Used a tan shoestring as rope to coordinate with the trailer side rails. Front bumper bar, rear rack supports and roof. Probably get another 1/18 roof basket to complete everything.
Also mounted the trailer spare tire upright instead of laying down tongue. Wicked uphill incline the spare on the trailer and the spare on the rig would touch each other..like this that was eliminated.
