Default flex shafts

i have been thinking on buying an rc boat for awhile and while looking i saw some boate that had a flexible dive shaft alot like the speeddometer on your car

do you think these would work
you could still technically have a shafty but it would give you more ground clearance
tell me what you all think

I personally do not think they would work. When you would get into a bind or stress the driveline, they would tend to just wind up into a ball and just twist into a pretzel and not apply the force to the rear end.

yeah i think if the cable shaft was big enough to the point it wouldnt wind up, then it wouldnt flex either with the pressures on it.

i suppose it would be like a spring when under pressure.. you get nout for a few secs then bam all thet power in a tiny litle burst.

I would say that it would work in one direction and not the other.

I'm not familiar with boat flex shafts

But I think the Flex shaft they sell for Drills so you can screw a screw in a hard to reach corner or those flex shafts they sell that attach to your 1/4 ratchet then those would be plenty strong and are equiped with a universal already !
I bought one last month, about $7. at 4-5" long.
Connect universal at other end and adapt to your shaft
or I'm sure you could weld a joint on there
humm
I'll take a picture tonight and post it

thanks for the input
i can understand what you all were thinking about it twisting but couldnt you zip tie it to something to prevent this

also thought about using them to make axles instead of dog bones

i really need to build my own rig to test these ideas out
