| upper wishbone or links
Are there any advantages/disadvantages to using a wish bone upper link as opposed to two individual links?

I personally like the idea, I wish I'd thought of that before I built my crawler. You could probably get more aticulation if you used the pivot ball at the end of the upper wishbone link and secured it to the axle buy modifying a steering knuckle or something. Just my two cents. |

sounds like a really neat idea, wondering though if you were to mount the shocks on the upper wishbone instead of the lower links would the suspension geometry still be capable of controlled movement or just be crazy on articulation and just have little dampening?

well I decided not to do the wishbone route, got thinking about only one rod end connecting the upper part to the axles and I didn't feel it would be strong enough. So I ended up using two individual links, heres what I've got done so far |

thanks goslo, I don't mine if you use my ideas, after all, all I did was look around and save a ton of pics of other peaples rigs and use them to build what you see here. The suck part is I used to have acsess to a milling machine and lathe, but I don't have that option any more so all my work is done with a jig saw, 4" grinder, dremel, drill press, files and what not. Ive got more done to it since those pics were taken, Its been in the 40's here in NH and the snow is melting like crazy I can't wait to see how it crawls
