TRX-4 in Canada

I've searched all the usual online Canadian vendors (and some I'd not discovered before) but nobody has a TRX-4 in stock anywhere. Lots of sites list the truck in their online stores but there's no stock to be found. Has anyone found one in Canada anywhere? It's almost like Traxxas don't want to ship them to the Great White North! Even my LHS says he can't get them from his distributors but if pushed he would try and get one direct from Traxxas.

Direct from Traxxas is kind of how Traxxas is trying to work things.

Gonitro on ebay is listing them in stock if you want to do the ebay thing.

I live in Canada and got one from Great Hobbies online. You have to call them and the will take a pre-order for one, when their next shipment comes in the will then charge you and ship it out. I had to wait about 2 weeks and was number 13 on the list for a Red one.

If you live near Calgary, Action Hobbies had 3 Grey ones in stock...

Feeling your pain. In the Maritimes, and having a very difficult time finding one. Prolly time to follow cjhike's advice and just pre-order from Great Hobbies. There is a hobby shop around an hour away that claims to have them but he's charging $675CAD. Yeah nah.

Thanks for the replies folks, I looked at doing the Ebay thing but it gets expensive when you factor in shipping and customs charges/taxes. I think I'm going to have a another chat with my LHS this coming week and see what he can do. Scale trail trucks are not a big thing around here unfortunately as the terrain is very flat. The LHS has an outdoor course for nitro powered trucks/buggies (although I think they've had to abandon the weekly races due to noise complaints) and an indoor track for electric racers. Race nights are very busy with lots of RC'ers taking part. It's a pity scale trail trucks don't get the same attention.

Well, you should make a nice scale trailer for the TRX to pull and set it up like it is the tow rig for your race RC. It could cause the cool factor to snare other people around your area to get one ;)

Nice idea but I don't have any race cars, just an Axial SCX10 Rubicon (kit version with hard top) for me and an Axial SCX10 Honcho (RTR) that is my wife's rig. I have been toying with the thought of picking up a double wheel trailer and then building a removable camper body. That way I could have a camper or a trailer for the other truck or anything else I want to throw on. Building my own camper appeals to me as I enjoy building things like that.

SW Ontario near Detroit? Lots of Canadians come over the border and pick them up at Larry's RCs here in Michigan. They had 2 in stock Saturday.

Maybe they sold. Just last week the Edmonton store had 3 in stock physically sitting on the shelf.

I suggest just calling in. The website is not always current.

After days of internal debate about whether I actually needed a new truck I finally bit the bullet last night and ordered one from Great Hobbies (along with a few other goodies). Now I just have to wait for it to get here!

I downloaded the manual this morning so I have some reading to do while waiting.

You will not regret it man! I love mine so much. I thought the diffs were gimmicky at first but now I realize they are awesome. i love seeing what lines and where I can go with open diffs, then trying front diffs locked and then trying all locked. So much fun. So much "scale" driving!
