This Bronco needs a proper hard shell. One that can accommodate any/all style changes throughout its run.
It also needs to be released as a kit with factory wheels & tires & factory ride height.

I want to build exactly this.

I do to. Unfortunately I am getting the Trx before the 2018 release comes out so I guess, Land Rover for me.

found the first online-shop (german) listing the trx-4 kit delivery time 2-4 weeks.
saying that the planned release date for the kit will be after the toy fair end of this month in nuernberg. price is shown like the same as the rtr version.

Hopefully the price will drop, probably not tho ! So that means the lift kit and Bronco kit/body is coming around that time too.

Nice, looks like Traxxas released an upgrade for the TRX-4 to convert to single speed ... #8296 – Transmission gears, single speed... and a new spool to keep the diffs locked (?)... #8297 – Spool, differential housing plug

And some other goodies: New TRX-4 Accessories From Traxxas « Big Squid RC – RC Car and Truck News, Reviews, Videos, and More!

Pondering...... Why the single speed gear set, strange, I guess most would prefer a single speed for the TRX4 ! Go figure !

I’ve read a lot of users complaining on this forum about the 2-speed and locking diffs. I suppose this is how Traxxas is addressing those complaints

Props to them. At least they're offering a way to go locked diff and single speed if the 2spd and open diffs isn't your thing. I can already attest to the quality of the shocks. The PTFE coated versions should even be smoother than the stock units.

Damn. Traxxas is quick with upgrades and different bodies. Some other companies sure could learn a thing or two.

2 Speeds are added weight and complexity, and with that comes more potential failure points. Also, some folks who want to swap radios will already have 4 channel radios available.

I'm building one TRX up C2 style and one for trail duty. The trail truck will keep the 2 speed but the C2 definitely wont.

Didn't check the ratio, but single speed gear set might also split the speed/torque difference between high and low gear on the two speed, which for many makes it a more ideal option than simply using zip ties to lock it down.

Well I need some buyers on the 2.2 wheels and tires, links, liftkit shocks, and stock un-lockable diffs, they will be brand new right out of the kit box and for a really good price! Trades possible lol.
In all seriousness though, I’m very happy about the new locked diffs as it gets rid of a whole bunch of unnecessary things.
