Default My Bronco showed up from RPP yesterday and...

I immediately removed the red graphics in order to replace them with my own. It has not even had a battery in it yet.

The plan was to do this:

I knew stretching vinyl over the flares would be a pain. I had the flares on one side mostly done when it struck me that
the flares would get skinned up almost immediately and look like poo so I started working on plan B.

What I wound up doing was to take elements of Ford's different paint schemes from 78-79 and put my own spin on it.
I also decided to forego the red since there will be 3 bijillion red and black ones floating around. I googled and found a
black and silver that caught my eye so I went that direction.

Here's all the pieces cut and ready.

I applied the hood and upper pieces using the wet method to avoid bubbles and be able to place them more precisely.

Being the impatient individual I am at times, I decided to take a shot at putting the lower piece on dry. I got plenty of
bubbles. I was able to pick and press most of them out but I'm not happy with it.

The pinstripes are not over-laid but actually cut out of the silver. I missed the bottom corner by the grille by about 1.5
to 2mm so I have to redo it anyway. Moving those two points in the lower corner rearward will also correct the angle.
Placing it wet will also allow a straighter reveal against the chrome molding and allow more black to show through.

The chrome molding will get the rub strip down the center blacked out either with matte black vinyl or paint.
Likely paint since it will be faster and easier.

I'm not sure I'm sold on the silver yet. I tried a medium blue and a orangy yellow but did not like those at all.

Thanks for checking it out. Feel free to post your thoughts.

Can I ask what you used to make the graphics? Love how it looks.

I use caliper and Illustrator then cut them on a Summa D75R plotter.

Agreed. The plan is to lay a 1mm strip where they would be and cut them from the graphic while in place. There's no lines to go by on the body so they have to be located using the chrome molding.

I'll do them and the emblems once the strips are securely in place.

I’m in need of new emblems too, since I took off the top strip on my sunset. If you get to that and sell a spare set let me know!

I'm working on that.

My cutter will cut letters that small no problem. The problem comes when you try to weed them out of the vinyl and then actually sticking once placed.

The BRONCO text and the XLT are no sweat. The RANGER text is border line.

I plan to cut those later today in 3-4 colors and see how they turn out.

That silver graphic is stunning, well done! Can't wait to see the final results... Now you need new wheels in a two-tone to match, black centers would be perfect!

There was a Hot Wheels car from the late 70’s. It was this Bronco with the sunset graphics & the addition of graphics on the hood with the Bucking Horse cut out.

Well,

Since I decided that I can't deal with the silver and am going red after all.....
It's a good time to incorporate the bronco.

How's this look?

My uncle had a red and black F-150 growing up. It was lifted and just a great looking truck. I love the red and black theme. I always have. That's why I went with the black and red truck. I prefer more red than black, but this was as close as I could get out of the box. Because of my love of red and black it pained me to see my dad's employer allow him to paint his brand new red and black Ford L-9000. He hates red so the red got painted silver! It looks great, but not as good as red and black.

The logo is great! This will look excellent!

The Louisville is my favorite Ford cab, L-9000 being the top of the heap.

I got quite a bit done this evening. I still need to cut the door gaps and deal with the Bronco emblems. I was able to save the original decals so I'm not sure if I'm using them or cutting new ones.

I'm pretty beat. I'll put up a pic for now and update the post when I finish.

I appreciate all the great comments!

Good Night gents.

Here's the latest pics.

That's pretty much all I'm doing to it until the clear bodies become available.

Thanks for checking it out.

Not a die hard hater of Red but let's just say if RC's only came in Red I wouldn't be into RC's.

With that said, I would buy this combo no question cause that looks crazy good. Excellent work on both the Silver and Red.

Would you be interested in selling the file for my personal use? I have a vinyl cutter and was going to do this also, but you already did a better job than I could ever hope to do

And for those of us who don't have a vinyl cutter, would you consider selling the decals? I actually kinda dig those silver ones you did earlier.
