Default Another interesting Mod.... Air Ride?

Found another interesting mod. how about air rid to lift the bumpers out of the way only when needs as to keep that COG down low where you want it.

https://www.facebook.com/proairrc/vi...1058401315165/

https://proairrc.com/magazin/product...-96mm-type-a-b

Depending stiffness when deflated and inflated it could be useful. I know i like to keep my preload down as low as I can, but when I have it this way I often get caught on a bumper. If I had air ride i could just hit a button get the bumper up until I was clear and then drop it back down where I want it.

Could make for an interesting mod.

$299

BWAHAHAHA!!!

I've seen this on Facebook and it's cool because it's unique and interesting, but never at that price.

Thats, the dumbest thing I have ever seen offered in R/C.

Oh I'm sure there are a few on another forum that are lining up to get that

If I cant make it up an obstacle I usually back up look at the obstacle from a different angle, readjust and pick a new line.

Looks like I'll have to get some more VW touring cars and and use this to give me that "MOAR LOW".

Seriously, I loved my VW GTI when I had it, and it was lowered statically within reason for performance, but I always thought it was ridiculous the way some others ran air-rides for achieving maximum lowering.

1:1 there are real life performance oriented air ride systems. I think most people use it for the "moar low", but i have seen reviews of serious autucross and trackday cars using air ride to enhance the cars ride characteristics.

The RC air ride is cool, but I agree, $299 is too much money for it. I can buy another RC for that much!

There are more cars with factory air suspension out there than aftermarket.

Jeep Grand Cherokees, RAM 1500s and Land Rovers are offered with air ride for off-road capabilities. There's a regular height for regular driving and an off-road height that usually increases it 2-inches or so?

Luxury cars use air ride for smoother ride quality as well.

The Range Rover Sport air suspension lets it drive like a Jag on the track and off-road like a Range Rover.

Air is also used for a lot of rear suspensions as well - Ford Explorer, BMW E39 touring, and probably a bunch more.

Given the way people already piss and moan about the TRX4 being too complicated, I can't imagine anyone wanting to add more crap to it.

Beside cost this is probably the most convincing reason to not do this!

I realize a lot can go wrong on a TRX4 but i enjoy the lockers and transmission. If I could not tell the difference with them on or off I would likely ditch them, But I think they really can serve a purpose, and make the experience more enjoyable.
