| 66 C10 Honcho cab fitment
I'm starting to build and install the 1966 Chevy C10 honcho cab. So far it looks like it will fit great with minimal adjustment. I am wondering about the battery box clearance. Would a low CG battery box give enough clearance or should I just go ahead and trim the cab to clear the factory box? Looks like it needs to come down at least an inch. Thanks! I would go with a low cog tray or front tray. I've been working on my truggy build and I plan on making the tray into a box. At least where it sticks out of the back of the cab. So you don't see the battery. Low cog tray will allow the body to drop allot more, but I'm sure you'll still end up cutting it some. Good luck! Keep us posted!

Thanks! Bowhouse tray on the way! I want to get the body completely fitted before I start paint.

The Bowhouse tray got installed last night. I started looking at the fitment and figuring out how I want to attach the Honcho cage to the chassis. I like the idea of still using body posts and clips versus zip ties. I trimmed the rear posts so they would sit as low as possible in the mount. Here is where the body sits, once I drill holes for the posts it will probably drop another quarter inch. Obviously it still sits a bit high. I don't think it looks bad and maybe with some different Rock sliders it will hide the gap in that area more. Or is it just too high? Thoughts? Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk |

It's coming along nicely, I was able to figure out how to modify the body posts to connect very cleanly to the honcho cage/ bed. Overall the body is a bit higher than I would like. The body panels are not going to sit in the slider groove, but that's okay it was a compromise and ultimately I'm happy with the look. I still have some minor fitment and trimming before I can start paint work. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk Last edited by toys222; 09-13-2019 at 08:00 AM. |

Personally, I would look for some TRX-4 Sport rear shock towers and lose the inner fenders from under the cage.

It's looking good bro! I like it. I agree with GA about the rear inner fenders. You can always put spacers under the sliders to get them up a bit. AnimalHippie's Trx-4 Adventure Post #121 for what I used to space mine.

I was running the Hilux body with the rear cage and had to put spacers as mentioned above to bring the sliders up. It worked great and looked awesome. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk |

I got some nylon spacers from Lowes and some longer bolts (22MM I think) from A-Main to raise up the sliders for the J Concepts bodies on our trucks. They had two sizes, quarter and half inch I believe, and a single half in was perfect. I also put on some VS4 tube bumpers on at the same time and I think those would match the style you are going with. |

Yep - Spacer the sliders up and you'll be good. I like the hardware bin section at Home Depot. All sorts of round, Aluminum and Nylon spacers in different lengths, diameters, etc. Look'n good!
