Replacement HD Drive train parts

I broke the right front drive shaft on my TRX this weekend and looking to upgrade. I see Traxxas has a couple of options for HD parts. Option 1 is part #s 8060 (HD axle shafts) paired with 8064 (port drive gears) per the Traxxas site and Option 2 is part # 8062 (Axle shaft, front, heavy duty (left & right)/ portal drive input gear (machined) (2)).


The cost of either is ~ $60 but Im trying to figure out which one to go with. The 8062 is out of stock at Traxxas and AMain but I found it elsewhere. To me this seems like the best choice since its one piece but wanted to see if anyone else had experience with these parts. I havent fully taken the truck apart but can see where it broke so I wanted to get parts ordered so I can tackle it this weekend.



Also, what other drivetrain components should I keep on hand has spares and which parts should I upgrade? We shattered a portal drive gear the other day after getting tangled in some fishing line but I replaced them a stock component. I dont want to go overboard with replacing everything with HD parts since you need a weak link somewhere and replacing the portal gear was a quick affair.

I’m new to the TRX4, I wonder if Tekno or MIP makes aftermarket parts. If so I’d look there

MIP only makes drive shafts currently. Wasnt familiar with Tekno but doesnt look like they make TRX stuff either.

Ended up ordering the 8062s for both trucks and looks like they are the same components as the other part #s, just sold complete. Makes since why they discontinued them since they sell the parts individually.

Not sure exactly what I did to break the old one but it snapped the knuckle clean so hopefully the new ones hold up.
