| Trx4 service truck
Looking at building a scale copy of my work service truck. Anyone have any tips or examples of one that's been made already? Sent from my SM-N960W using Tapatalk |

Proline used to make a body that would be perfect. Here's the box half, but it's discontinued so check eBay. https://www.prolineracing.com/bodies...clear-body.asp |

I've been looking at those and found them on ebay for a decent enough price. Only issue I have is the style isnt quite tall enough. So not quite scale. You think I could stack two and it would look right? Sent from my SM-N960W using Tapatalk |

Anything is possible of you're willing to work. You can also hand build it from scratch using styrene.

You could definitely make a crane work. The construction side of RC is huge and I'm sure they have something that would work. | |

I guess my first course of action should be to buy the cab and go from there Sent from my SM-N960W using Tapatalk |

So I measured and scaled down the service body. Made a cardboard sample to test out the dimensions with the new chassis. Looks like it should do the trick just fine. Now to decide how to proceed building the service box. Sent from my SM-N960W using Tapatalk |

Cardboard is the perfect test build material. Nice job. I still think Styrene will be your best bet.

Styrene really is pretty easy to work with, and I think it'd be your best bet for that box-bed. Check out the Scale Accessories section ... roksloski does some amazing chit with it! You might get some ideas or pointers in his thread. Lookin' good so far. jim |

So I wanted a bit more detailed layout. So I picked up some foam board. I've managed to figure out the mounts for it and worked out some details of the body. Not sure if I'll just keep the foam board as its actually way sturdier than I expected. I do hope to mount a "working" crane on the one side so we'll see how that holds up. Included a chassis shot because why not? Details on the chassis are simple. I originally bought the trx4 builders kit and a long arm lift kit, then ordered up traxxas parts 8830 - trx6 crossmember, and 8829 - trx6 chassis rails. And shifted the crossmember to where I wanted it to achieve the wheelbase I was after. In this case it sits a bit longer than 17inches. The wheels are from ssd. Just a basic beadlock with the OEM traxxas tires. I'd like to run a dually setup but I'm already going to hurt the trailability of the trx4 by making it so long I'll just leave it as is. Great looking build. I did something similar in size with a bruder flat bed and a truck cab, similar wheelbase.

I apologize for the lack of updates. I'm slowly tinkering with this build. Just got some lazer cut mdf for my service body. I think it's the best option for this rig. Should be decently durable and once I figure out how to mount it and my rear shocks and adjust the wheelbase etc etc. But I'm going to glue it all together and wrap it in that aluminum duct tape then obviously paint it. I still have a few other things to get built. Air tank, light bar, spare tire mount, generator/compressor, cabinet and most importantly a crane which I hope I can manage to make operational. Lots too do and little time to actually accomplish any of it. I included a picture of my driveshaft setup using an lesu steady bearing Sent from my SM-N960W using Tapatalk |

Coming along good. Who needs a winch on a bumper when you have a crane on top and can pull yourself out of any situation in any direction, lol.
