I saw that there was a 20% off sale on traxxas bodies at Amain... then quickly closed the window when I realized the good bodies were still over $100. Thats just more money than I want to roll or rub on the rocks
Though I probably put that much into a regular body when I get crafty with paint and use 6+ colors.

It looks good but, I wish they wouldn't make them all high trail editions. Looks much more scale without the bigger tires and shocks.

You haven't seen many k series or these f150s obviously. I've seen many with tires that are close to this big under them. They don't look that far out of scale at all compared to many others.

I'd love it on portal deletes, swap the bumpers for SSD bumpers, and just run my set of 4.75" tall RC4WD Interco Ground Hawg II tires - vintage tread for a vintage truck.

Just my opinion, but the 2.2" Canyon Trails are way too big - the wheels are sweet, though...

But I'd probably remove those roll-bar mounted lights, as they'd get knocked off on the first tumble!

They definitely are way too big. Some 4.65s with a 1:1 tread pattern would look way more scale accurate.

But hey, no complaints here. They’re going for the masses, and the masses want oversized tires. I think it’s a great release and something as little as too big of a tire won’t shy me away.

Haha well I guess the k10 on tons in my shop obviously doesn't give me any insight as to what is scale or not.

Same.
Not saying smaller isn't scale doesnt look a bit better But being from the country, k10s and 70s f150s with tires looking about this big were not uncommon. But class 1 or class 0 tires can look scale on these too.

^This. We're not saying it looks showroom stock. As a young kid in the late 80's I remember trucks decked out exactly like this driving around. Not with portals obviously, but the ride height and tire size are on point.

Edit: to be fair I am relying on childhood memories from 30+ years ago so some things may have been exaggerated with time

My dad had a bunch of the old hi-boys when i was a kid. Big mudders on a jacked up is pretty accurate for this body. Im building my 84 f150 (now f350) short bed step side n puttin 37s under it...

I would love to see someone build one of these and the K10 version 2 different ways.
1. Lose the portals but keep the lift and run the f150 wheels with the 4.6x2.2 6x6 tires.
2. Keep portals and add bigger flares to run Jconcepts 2.2 ranger tires for the early monster truck look.

DAMMIT!!!!
I have really been trying to stay out of the TRX4 game, but now I may just have to dabble. Just a little...

It hits a little too close to home
If it had the '73-'76 grille, I would have already pre-ordered it.

Grille comes off so I'm betting you will see the earlier grilles for sale on shapeways and places like that soon.

I already have the Carisma 2-PC Body, I just need to get off my lazy **** and build the rig, this would just a press of the Eazy Button away, but... an expensive press In time, I will likely own one.

That's Kodiak brown! Absolutely beautiful color in the new f150 and super duty. Even nicer when you selected the king ranch option so the entire matched!
