Default Aluminum bearing plate problem.

I installed the standoff for the bearing plate, put the casing on and the tranny is locked!!! When I pull the case off about a 1/4" everything is ok. The only thing I can think of is that the standoff is engaging the teeth on the main shaft gear.
HELP!!!

I took the standoff out and all is ok. IS THIS OK??? Put it back in locked up, took it out all ok. What the hell is up. One note is that I'm using the machined gears and the top gear looks like it might be close enough to engage the standoff.

Problem solved the standoff isn't long enough to reach both bearing plates in the first place, I should have seen that off the bat. It must have been hitting the bigger idler gear as far as I know. Here is a photo of it and it's only 20mm. I have the idler shaft next to it. Maybe it was used in the VFD tranny.

To answer the question, the standoff is only used in the VFD trans that is found in the PRO and Ultra and can be purchased as a kit.

The standoff is not needed in the VFD Twin.

Thanks B-MOW71 your a life saver. I thought that, that might be answer but didn't know. I went ahead and left it out and completed my tranny.
