| My SCX10 won an Ascender!
I competed with Buxom Melons this past season in the North West Indiana TTC series. It was several events with 4 Classes. Melons ran in 1.9 Weekend Warrior (basically C2) and we came in first for the series... which won me a Vaterra Ascender! My friend 2.slow had yesterday off so he built the kit for me. This is a really nice kit: metal links, Pan Hard Bar, Double O Ring Shocks, Steel Trans gears, Adjustable Chassis and Axles! Wow, Vaterra really put some design time into it and I feel they raised the bar! Well, here's a few crappy cell phone pics I took on my way out the door this morning. I just slapped on the OG Melons body as well as a larger ProLine Slash Bug body... the Slash Bug body fits really well at the Blazer wheelbase. Not sure what body I'll run but I doubt the Blazer simply because I really need a Class 1 rig besides my 34' Ford... I love the Ford but I also like winning! Currently thinking of doing the narrow axle mod and running 1.7 IROK's on 1.9 wheels. |

Your cell phone needs glasses. In to see what body you build, thanks for the chance! |

Congratulations on the win. I happened to win my Ascenders as well, but not through skill, just luck of the draw in a raffle at a local GTG. Looking forward to you making it dominate class 1 like your other rigs do to class 2 and 3. I agree that this platform goes above and beyond the Axial offerings. Mines still completely stock and it has no problem keeping up with modified SCX's. |

Congratulations! That bug is pure sweetness. Can't wait to see what you do with the Ascender.

Beat up? But it says "mint" on the fender! I get the feeling your going to have to shorten the WB a lot to fit that VW body? I think you should put the thin red and blue pinstripes around the outer edge of those steelies to make them more genuine wagon wheel style. |

Got some work to do but I think it'll work. Waiting on mail from Canada and then should be able to cut new links and front shock mounts. Rear is mocked up with a Dinky SCX10 cantilever system I won as a giveaway at KOG 2013. |

Narrowed the axles 6mm on each side... it looks like it can go a bit further too. That may require some grinding, not sure yet. Shortened the rear wb and may extend the front a tad... still waiting on the mail befor I get too far ahead. As of now, I need either a bit narrower track or wider fenders... I have ideas for both. |
