| Front axle seems skewed to one side
I am wrapping up my build and the front axle doesn't seem centered on the frame. I ran the upper link on the driver side to the frame and hat seems to be pushing it over to the passenger side. Any suggestions. Doesn't seem quite right. |

Anything with a panhard bar will have that "issue". With the suspension fully compressed, the axle will be slightly off center on the other side. At a normal ride height, with the shocks partly compressed, the axle will be pretty much centered. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Might also make sure the upper link and track bar are the right length.

As others have said, panhard bars do that to the suspension, it's just because of the design. If it was 4 link, it wouldn't happen. It doesn't affect the driving of it though.

Thanks guys. I will measure again and see. Good to know I didn't do anything ridiculously wrong! So I measured everything and all the front links, pan hard etc are 66 mm. It seems that maybe the panhard is too long. The passenger side shock definitely sits substantially closer to the frame than the driver. This doesn't seem correct. even at full extension? Under compression I can see it moving over but at rest it is still way skewed. If this is normal then ok, but one shock is about 1/4 of an inch from the frame and the other about 1/16th. It is also skewing the wheelbase. The passenger side where the shock is closer to the frame is 1/2 inch front hub to rear hub further than the driver side Last edited by THX_138; 07-28-2015 at 09:59 PM. |

I can see the skew in the one picture. I also see the ball in the rod end is facing the other way than the other side. At the skid plate. I really doubt there'll be the difference to make it right, but that's what I see. If nothing else, try a washer or two on the short side.

Interesting. This could be the problem. I am pretty sure that all my links were supposed to be 66mm according to the manual. Including the supplement that shipped with mine. Will check in the morning. I guess I am getting all the terminology muddled up. I know the panhard, and the two lower links on passenger and driver and then this upper link is the one parallel to the driveshaft? |

There is a typo in the manual. The upper link should be 61mm, not 66mm - look here and scroll down to step F-3 Im not that far with my build (just before assembling shocks), but i think that the upper link is the one right above the differential (you can see mounting point for the 4th link on the other side) and the panhard is the one parallel to drive shaft. You should have separate assembling instructions for that. So i would bet, you have long upper link and thats your problem. edit: Just to be sure .. i think the upper link is here marked red Last edited by Taurus84; 05-27-2015 at 01:46 AM. That makes a lot more sense. Thanks. Small edit, the panhard runs perpendicular to the DS.

Yep, sorry. I mean parallel to the front axle of course

So this did help. Kinda strange that they would issue a supplement for the panhard but forget this. Oh well I will try and get a pic up tomorrow but it is better
