Default Ascender shock suggestions

Looking to upgrade my shocks. I use it more as a trail rig with a brushless system. Any suggestions?

I have some Gmade diaphragm shocks I am going to fit. They are a little shorter than the stock, but I have some slightly longer rod ends I can use. I have the same on my other truck and they work fine with 15 weight oil.

I'll probably eventually put 100mm Kings from RC4WD on mine. The truck doesn't need more flex so I don't plan to go longer.

Glad I read reviews on the king shocks before I hit the button. And thanks for the input. I've been driving the crap out of my scx10's while my ascender sits on the shelf. My friends are like why don't you drive this one. Tired of making excuses..off to the classifieds it goes. Try and recoupe my losses and put the money towards the kinda new axial wraith. Unfortunately!!

I also tried the 100 mm kings and they were terrible. Stock shocks are much better.

Has anyone tried the Vaterra aluminum bodied shocks? I believe I read that they were much better but I am not positive on that. I am looking to upgrade myself but nor sure what to go with. Tuning options are many and unfortunately all above my current skill level. Looking for something that is pretty decent right from stock.

Stock ones have heavy dampening because they have too small of piston holes in the shock and the e-clip that holds the piston to the shaft can rotate free and cover one or both holes depending on position. People have been notching pistons on the edges effectively decreasing the dampening, or drilling out the holes which i can see kinda working with that e-clip. I personally am stuck between gmade zero 104mm shocks or 110mm stock shocks and "cut" pistons (right now im running 95mm axial shocks which are kinda short).

I've used both fronts and rears. It gives you some tuning options. You can also use mini-t shock springs.

Those seem to never leak, they are reliable but a little large for scaleness.

I'd add a couple drops of some thin oil maybe 10 wt just to lube the o-ring seals on the shocks and keep them smooth over time.

x2, front Slash shocks are about 3.5" eye to eye and rears are about 4". Also can be run with Losi Mini-T springs for more tuning options and for tight clearance areas, the springs OD is slightly smaller than the shock body OD.

Iv been running the 95mm proline power stroke shocks for a while now I opted for these apposed to king 100mm and so far I'm very pleased with them good quality build and nice smooth operation when used with 30wht oil
