Default 32p spur gear for Ascender?

I'm wanting to change over to 32p spur and pinion on my Ascender. Does anyone know of any 32p spurs that will work on the Ascender slipper?

I also did a couple searches and came across this in an older Ascender thread.

motakitty posted that Exotek makes a slipper eliminator for the Losi 22T that is supposed to work on the Ascender tranny. Has anyone used the Exotek Losi 22T slipper eliminator on the Ascender tranny, and can confirm that it fits and works? motakitty also posted that the HPI spurs would fit the Exotek slipper eliminator, as well.

22 DIRECT SPUR MOUNT - Exotek Racing

I have LURC slipper eliminators on both of my SCX10's, and I really like not having the slipper!! I would like to do the same on my Ascender!!

Thanks in advance for your help!

I left a comment on LURCs suggestions thread about this just the other day, they replied "we would need a test vaterra" so maybe we can keep our fingers crossed that something will happen......at some point.

The way I see it is either LURC needs to develop a input shaft for the ascender transmission, or make the keyed hole the the eliminator has smaller to fit the ascenders current trans input shaft.

Personally I'd like to see 2 version of the slipper eliminator for the ascender. One to let us use an RRP 1558, and/or one to use RRP 7086, and RRP 7076.

Twin hammers spur will work and RR makes a steel gear in 32 pitch.

All I'm seeing on RR's site is 48p steel gears for the Twin Hammers.

I thinks I know how you can get a 32p, or rather mod .8 onto your ascender, but it would require you to get experiential.

Well, I was looking at the RRP site also, and like you I didn't find any twin hammers 32p spurs, but what I did notice that a number of the traxxas slash 4x4 replacement spurs ( mod .8 ) have flat faces which could be adapted to be used with the ascender hardware that sandwich the stock ascender spur, all you'd really have to do is find out what material to make slipper pads out of, and of course the bearing that would mate the new spur to the stock input shaft.

And there you have it, my theory or, what I was about to try, as soon as I could think of other things I could tack onto my order to get free shipping, since the GCM ascender combo kit I installed would require something like a 50T 32p spur.

I'm thinking about trying the Exotek TLR22 direct spur mount. It's $13.95 plus shipping from Exotek. Honestly, I would rather do away with a slipper clutch if I could.
I may end up ordering it and see if it does work on the Ascender.

Then you'll need matching mod .8 pinions or it will be loud as ****. I tried the spur only (didn't have mod pinion) on my Wraith and got rid of those spurs.

Good idea.

I use this on my Wraith and Honcho with 32 pitch, Duratrax Spur Gear 32P 56T Nitro Evader BX, don't recall if they have other than 56T though.

Yep! I use the same spur gears on both of my SCX10's, but I use them with the Locked UP RC slipper eliminator kits on both rigs.

Cool, I'm doing same with old original Axial non-slipper top shaft setup, but LockedUpRC is what I'll use next time I buy one.

This is what fits but they don't make them anymore. I bought 2 when I built my bouncer with a TH trans a year or so ago. I have a spare but its not for sale. Its a shame as this is a direct fit and uses the same friction pads and all.

I have one of these except mine is yellow for some reason in mine right now and its doing great. This is also a direct fit and uses stock pads.

I used the Associated SC10 4x4 32 pitch gear with their high torque slipper pads. Using the stock hardware performed well when I won the ReconG6 Endurance class. No problems since I installed it.

The 58 tooth spur Associated 91096
High torque slipper pads Associated 91170

Everything else is the stock components, used a 13 tooth pinion with a 13.5 motor.

You can also go lower and higher than that by using the GT2 gear numbers down to 52 and sc10 4X4 goes up to 62. It covers the spectrum and the slipper pads are a lot better than stock and can be used with all of the gears.

Just read on the FaceTube that a few guys are running the Axial Yeti spurs and matching Axial slipper pads. Readily available, 32p, and available in steel as well. Supposedly a direct fit. Worth looking into anyhow...
