Default TJ's Nukizer Ascender

Hello, Just swapped my Yeti for a almost new RTR Ascender. I had planned to get a SCX10 2 but fell into this trade for this Ascender. I was able to take it out yesterday and I am shocked on how well this thing goes right out of the box!!! I didn't get the stock wheels and tires with it but did get New Pro-Line Beadlocks with Pit Bull Growlers. I have the Growlers on my 1.55 YJ and love them so on the Ascender they worked very well.

I took atvantage of RPP sale this past weekend and ordered up some SSD diff covers, HD Pinions and HD Drive Shafts. I also have a Axial Nukizer body coming for it as well.

I hope you will all enjoy this build as much as I will enjoy building it!!!

My yeti was a well built race truck but I didn't use it ever, my kids drove the hell out of this thing this past weekend and loved it!!!

Meh on Boom Racing. Go with Vaterra, SSD, and then GPM.

Question for you all

I have heard mixed things about the Link strength on the Ascenders. How do they hold up and is anyone making a TI or stainless link kit?

My RTR links did not bend while I was running them, some have bent them, but I was letting anybody drive it. Eventually you'll bend a link. I'm running Vaterra HD machined aluminum lower links, very heavy duty, re-uses the strong stock end link balls and plastic, has machined recesses to strengthen the mating between the link and the plastic ends. Make sure you order the correct length.
One Piece Lower Link, Aluminum, 90mm (2): ASN | HorizonHobby

SSD RC makes titanium links that also re-use the Vaterra ends.
PARTS FOR ASCENDER

Lunsford Racing makes nice 4mm adjustable links, I used their 110mm length for my tie-rod, just drill out the Ascender plastic ends to 1/8" (0.125"), then thread it together and set the length! This is the best HD tie-rod for the Ascender, can give slight toe out if you really want more steering lol small OD makes max steering during compression travel better, it's clears rocks a little better and is strong!
Lunsford Racing: 4 x 111mm Titanium Turnbuckle (1/pkg)

Thanks with the Nukizer body I'm going to need to shorten it up a bit. I may get the ssd links.

I was able to get all the parts installed last night with no issues at all.

I also too this chance to move the rear shock to the outside of the mount as I read that this will help the torque twist. I used some spacers I had to help even out the top of the shocks to match the bottom.

Well it's broken...

My girls Nephew was playing with it and this is what happened...

Also broke the rear drive shaft, good thing I had parts on standby...
