Default '72 K10 body vs '66 F100

Does anyone have a side by side size comparison of the Ascender K10 body and the Pro-line '66 F100 honcho body? Or installed the F100 onto the Ascender cage?

My brother and I are thinking about doing a couple vintage truggy builds using these 2 bodies and want to make sure they look reasonably scale together.

Proline has that 66 body as a 313mm wheelbase. Which I'm not sure how they'd judge wheelbase on a truggy body. Now I'm curious if it looks ok on the 290mm WB2 the K10 comes stock in. or if the front tires will miss the fenders.

Yeah i think they are just listing the Honcho wheelbase since its a direct bolt on for that truck. With a truggy there is obviously a great deal of flexibility on wheelbase. I am just concerned with how these 2 bodies would look together, i understand the other ascender bodies are on the large size. Near as i can tell they should be pretty close, but i can't even seem to find dimensions on the K10 body

I have a shell at home I can measure. I'll post up the dimensions a little later today.

8 inches wide. 9 inches long and 4 3/4 inches high at the cab.

Much appreciated OldNTired, thanks for posting that up.

I have the pro-line body here and it appears to be 8" wide 11" long and 6" tall. I gotta say, I'm surprised the pro-line is bigger, and by quite a bit, 2" longer, 1 1/4" taller.

Isn't the honcho an extended cab? Stock? That could account for the extra length.

Edit: I also think the truggy rear on the K10 is longer than the honcho.

Yeah, stock body is, but this F100 isn't. Pro-line also make a F250(12") and Silverado(12.5") honcho bodies that are both even longer, so idk. I guess i will have to come up with a different plan.

X2, email Proline and tell them we want this 66 Ford cab to fit Ascender.

Yes, Honcho is extra cab (but it's compact Toyota lol).

Yes K10 tube bed is longer than Honcho tube bed. Might make it work with some cage/bed trimming? I love the K10 cab, but also love the Proline 1966 F100 cab!

Some Proline bodies are narrow and kinda short iirc, made for Traxxas Stampede, but the EMaxx/TMaxx are too long.

If it fits Axial Honcho it should fit the Ascender, might have to adjust wheelbase on some though.

Well i decided to pick up the Chevy body, just to see how they looked next to each other. But the results are pretty disappointing. The width is fine and i could probably deal with the length, but the height of the cab and even the doors on the Chevy look really squat. The idea here is to build 2 vintage truggies together, but these bodies just look too goofy next to each other. Oh well, we will have to figure something else out.

Thanks for side by side pics, I checked the F100 body at LHS last week and it looks fantastic, but it's huge. After measuring I figured I'd have to shorten it about 1", maybe trim the bottom of cab and open up the front wheelwells a bit to compensate for trimming the bottom. That's a lot of work on $40 body and then have to do outside paint and I might not like how it turns out after I cut it up. Wish Pro-Line or Vaterra would make a cab to go with the K10 cage/bed to fit Ascender 12.3" WB4.

Some useful cab and bed measurements thanks to userids: Hillbillrc and Durok!

Measured my K10 and Honchos, height can be trimmed some and my Honcho has about 1/4" iirc trimmed off the bottom edge. K10 has not been trimmed.

K10..........Cab..............Bed
Length......9.25".............8"
Width.......8".................8"
Height......4.75"............4.375"

Honcho.....Cab..............Bed
Length.....11.3"..............6.75"
Width........7.5"..............7"
Height.......5.125"...........4.3125"

According to Proline:
1966 Ford F-100 Cab
Length.....11.125" (283mm)
Width........8" (203mm)
Height.......6" (152mm)

85 Toyota HiLux Cab
Length.....11.31" (287mm)
Width........8.0" (203mm)
Height.......5.25" (133mm)
