Default New Ascender owner need help

I just bought a Vaterra Ascender suburban RTR and love it so far. I have a couple questions that I need help with
1, I ordered the 68 ford F100 body and flat bed but it appears to be a shorter wheelbase than the suburban, I am trying to figure out what i need to change the wheelbase to fit. I think I need shorter 4 link bars but cant figure out what length and if I should upgrade to metal ones since I have to replace them.
2) my steering servo has a ton of slack after second run, What do yall recommend for a waterproof replacement (prefferably unde $100.00)? Will I need a bec also? anything else I need when I upgrade servo? I am running 1.9XL super swamper TSL and a 2s lipo everything else is stock.

This earlier thread may be some help. Ascender F100 wheel base questions

You will need 12mm spacers from Varterra, but I'm not sure if you have metal or plastic links. The other option is custom links. You dont need the drive shafts from Vaterra as you can get adaptors for the diff unputs from Vanquish or GCM

https://www.vanquishproducts.com/asc...shaft-adapter/. Then you can use any driveshaft with a 5mm hole. IuseJunfacshaftsand they are good. Plenty of other options out there.

Servo. I use Savox and you will need a bec. Also Holmes make a bypass so you still power the rx from the ESC BEC but can power the servo straight from the additional BEC. https://holmeshobbies.com/electronic...s-adapter.html

Thanks for the link, I have read thru it and it looks like I need to be at 290mm for the F100? I dont know how to tell what length I am currently at with the suburban
my links are plastic so i dont understand how to add the spacers, if I get custom links what length do I need and what ones do people recommend?

What servo from Savox do you recommend? this is the one I was looking at but not sure if its a good choice or if there is something better

This thread shows the link and chassis setup. I cant remember if you need to alter the chassis rails.

Ascender Wheel Base & Link Reference Guide

The threaded aluminium links are these. Either 61mm or 66 mm

61mm:- https://www.horizonhobby.com/3mm-thr...-(4)-vtr234028

66mm:- https://www.horizonhobby.com/3mm-thr...-(4)-vtr234029

I'm not sure of the length of the links you have now. Looking on the website it doesnt give any dimensions. You ned to set the wheelbase to 290mm. In the thread above that means Front upper is 61mm .Front lower 66mm. Rear upper and lower are 66mm + 12mm spacer. That gives the dimensions you need. I don't know who does custom links, but I make my own from stainless steel tube and 3mm all thread. Also I'm not sure if the rod ends on the suburban are reuseable.

I use the Savox SW-0231MG. , but the one you asked about is better torque and will be fine, actually better.
