Default Bill's Twin Hammers "Gecko"

Mine arrived earlier today. Got it switched on and went for it. Didn't know about the gear change servo so that burnt out immediately.great.

Had the thing in bits trying to find the problem thinking it was a sticking movement but no it was the servo.

For me personally this is not going to be a rock racer but a scaler for rock crawling to compliment my others. So with that in mind the esc and motor although having a crawler mode if you look on the website I wanted more.
So I put in a 35t cr tuned motor, Novak rooster esc and a savox servo.

Massive contrast, crawling is really good. A few buddies have got theirs arriving today too so we're gonna be giving them their first proper outing tomorrow.

Some pics

new shift servo's all round please!

these things are great fun, even if the 2 speed only worked for about 10mins! and that was after i set the stop points too!

ran mine totally stock and it was great fun, bill's was a lot more controlled though but then that might of been down to driver...

So its the end point adjustment that is stripping servos or are they just junk?

a bit of both i think, it seems if the EPA's aren't set exactly then it'll burn out fast.

I thought i'd set mine properly but i guess i hadn't. just popped a metal geared hitec mini in and it's working great.

well worth taking the original servo horn off to make sure it's centered to where it needs to be otherwise setting the EPA's will be a nightmare...

Heard bad things about the steering servo too, but apart from being a bit slow seems OK.

How is the 35T working out? Pretty decent speed in 2nd gear?

That's along the lines of what I'd run if/when I get one of these.. Haven't learned much about the 2 speed as far as how slow 1st is and how fast 2nd is.

Mines currently jammed in 1st as my servo burnt out

TBH I may leave it single speed as its just fine for what I want. Its kind of equal to an scx10 rtr for speed in first with the 35t maybe a bit slower.

Right taking advice on locking the front diff I jammed it full of blu-tak. Horrible job but done.

Access to the diff (with cage off) is 4 screws so took seconds to have it out. A nice note is what looks like a plastic front hinge pin brace is actually metal with a plastic cover.

Might yet do a two tone black, matt and gloss.
