Hot racing makes gears for scx10 they must be strong super shafty uses them in their bullit proof transmissions so i would think the twin hammer gears will work out.

Question Re: twin hammer hardened trans gears

With the metal gears will this be a definite grease or no grease in the tranny? I have some on the way so just trying to get some input. Also, does anyone have a phone number for Hot Racing, would like to hear what they have to say. Thanks and God bless!

What will you all be advising customers to do in terms of adding grease to the tranny or not?

Any metal to metal gears needs lubrication, i would use a good water proof grease, and if put together right will last a long time.

Wink Re: twin hammer hardened trans gears

Got mine installed and they look very nice. Used a thin coat of Moly 1292 grease for lubrication. Just a word to the wise...had to end up drilling and using a screw remover for the small set screws on the rear drive shaft. Was good that they were locktited, but they weren't going to come out. Replaced with stainless steel ones; much better.

They were good on mine, took about a week to AZ. But I did get emails the day after order, might give them a call.

Talking Re: twin hammer hardened trans gears

I've placed two orders now and received in two days (KY). They did send emails confirming so I would just give them a call.

Finally got the gears installed, fit is excellent, shifts just like stock. Marginally noisier, a hotter motor may create abit more noise. Overall, they seem very good.

And after seeing all the roasted gears people have been posting, a nice piece of mind.
