Question twin hammers mild brushless ?

Hi Guy's I want to put a mild brushless in my hammers I now have a stock Tamiya 540 motor and like it for in the mountain but I want just a little more top speed in high for a little more fun.

what should I go with 1650KV or 1950KV?

any input will be great.

what battery will you be running? a 2s with those low kv motors wont even be as fast as a silver can 540 I bet, depending on how you gear it.

a silver can 540 is ~2600kv just for comparison.

I'd probably look for something around 3100-3800kv, as with 2s it will be about the same as silver can performance on 2s, but pretty quick with a 3s.

No that's not accurate at all a 2600KV will kill a Tamiya 540 stock silver can motor I put a 2300KV in one of my RC's and it is way faster than a stock silver can.

Remember the extra power of the brushless motor will make a truck go faster even if it has a bit lower RPM than a stock 540 motor because a 540 brushed motor has way less power to turn the gears and pull the weight of the RC.

I think I am going to try the 1950KV

Depending on the style of brushless.

For example, a 21.5 spec racing brushless motor is 1800kv. These are raced side by side with tamiya silver can 540 brushed cars in the same class, and run the same lap times.

An 1/8th scale 1800kv would be 'faster' as it has more torque and could be geared much higher, but I didn't think you were planning to use an 1/8th scale motor in a TH.

Hi I don't have a 1/8th motor .. I used a 540 sized 2300kv and it was way faster than my stock tamiyas silver cans.

Tamiya stock silver kit motors are 27 turn motors.

i got a traxxas 3500kv brushless in mine, 22 pinion an stock spur, locked in low gear, an its real quick on 2s, and stupid on 3s. could only imagine what it does in high gear.
