Default 30C or higher battery for TH?

I need to order new 2s Lipo battery for my TH. I have the large tray mod so I will be able to fit 5000mAh hard case battery in it. I am just not sure if 30C continuous (40C burst) would be enough or should I go with a higher discharge rating?

Depends on what you need. I'm running a 2s 5200mAh 30c-60c battery with a stock drivetrain and my max speed is ~18mph. I posted a pic confirming this earlier today.

I am not concerning too much about the top speed. I just do not want to kill the Lipo too early by discharging more than the battery can handle.

Are you running stock electronics?

Pretty much stock. Just exchanged ESC for a new one but specs are almost the same.

If it's the stock motor you are fine. Especially if it's a 5000 mah battery.

In case it helps, this is the battery I use. A Turnigy Nano-Tech 5800 mah 2s2p 30~60C Hardcase Lipo Pack (sorry I thought it was 5200mah)

This is with a stock Twin Hammers (v2) RTR... well all the electronics are stock. The suspension... not so much these days LOL.

Mah divided 1000 x amp rating is max amp draw the battery is capable of continuous output. So a 5000mah 30 amp lipo can handle 150 amps continuous output the battery is capable of. You will not have a problem with your stock motor.

My little 2000mah, 35amp (70amp) batteries were getting warmer than I like pushing my 70 amp rated motor.(4000kv 4pole brushless). But they still work and haven't puffed.

Thanks for all the replies. I got the 30C battery as it was a lot cheaper than the 60C version.
