Default Dick Dragon's Scale Hammer build

I have a TH on the way and I have a few goodies waiting for its arrival....so I thought I would start with the scale accessories and then update as parts and the vehicle show up.

Here are a few trail tools I built ready to go...

Some safety cones....

I used yellow wire nuts mounted to styrene plates.... drilled the tops out and painted them safety orange.....

The machete in the last pic is made from Styrene also

Much more to come!

The Faux Warn winch was the most complicated... But I think it turned out OK....

Not sure I'm going to use this, I may go with an operational unit.

But it sure was a fun build!

Looking good, like seeing more and more people going scale with the hammer.
It can do it all

After all the research I've done so far, I have to say I'm really disappointed in a lot of the aftermarket parts! Not that some of them are not great parts, they just don't fit the scale aspect!

Looks like I'll be using, building my own front upright shock mounts as well as many other parts, to try and keep in the scale realm of this build. I will say tho, the Sr.Irie steering kit is definitely going to be one that goes on my car.... the reviews and the quality of that kit are just by far the best I can find out there!

So this build may take a little longer than I had anticipated, but making my own parts should really add to the realism and scale aspect of this build..... I hope I can live up to some of the other builds on this forum!

NOW WHERE IS THAT PESKY FED-EX TRUCK?

Since I have farmed out the most time consuming part of my kits. I have been able to spend some time on my composite tower again. I would say it is scale, I got me one of them there mesuren sticks and everything. I am still slow but it is coming again. Not to stop someone from building themselves but it may be what your looking for.

The old tester installed

Yet another formula for testing

Hey Dick, that winch is awesome. For me R&D and building my own parts is what I like best about this hobby!!! I can tell by your skills in building your scale accessories that you will do fine. If you need help with anything, feel free to PM me.

Woo-whoo it was here when I got home!

Already in pieces,lol!

Can't stand the fake plastic chrome, so stripped the wheels and tires down first....painted the wheels as close as I could get to gun metal grey and then started with chrome silver and then Fluorescent green on the bead rings...Going for an anodized green look and think it came out pretty close.....

I had a couple disc brake hexes left from a drifter build, going to run those until I get the aluminum hexes....

And then modded the rear link mount on the pumkin...

I cut the shoulders of the stock link mount....it moved the links 5.50mm closer together...

And then added some Losi kingpin sleeves under the link mount which raised it 5.68mm

Also added SS hardware...

I am also going to make new upper links 5mm longer that stock to improve the drive shaft angle..

I did see what everyone is complaining about the soft Hardware, I don't think it's necessarily the hardware.....what I found was instead of using metric hex wrenches & I started using SAE's and have not had an issue again after that.

I am going to use the shocks off of a Losi Ten-SCTE the rear shocks are 100mm long, so I added longer rod ends and they now set a 104mm....

Also added SS hardware here too.
The Losi fronts are 85mm long, so I'm going to use them as is. I just need to fab up the upright shock mounts.

I had a roof panel left over from a Wraith build I did a while back, so used that for the roof panel and the number plates...

I made a quick release wing mount for the spare and moved it forward....

Added an old KO PROPO PDS-2368 ICS, I found in the parts pile for steering.

I will swap this for a 300+ oz. Torgue servo later and convert this one to a winch servo...

Going to run it off a Castle BEC @ 6.5v..may push it to 6.8 and see what temps I have.

For ESC, running a Castle MMP, with a Flash 3400kv. Motor....

Starting @ 21t pinion with stock Spur...will play around with larger spurs later...

I want to mount it & the BEC in the stock batt. location and receiver in the stock fr. shock location....more to come on the battery location....
