| Diff swap
Has anyone here attempted to swap the ring gear inside the axle and the front diff from left to right? I'm thinking this may help keep the passenger side front tire down.

I'd try but I get limited maintenance time (married) keen to see if it works. Can't afford the GCM rear truss that apparently fixes that. Sent from my SM-N910G using Tapatalk |

I have been considering buying that truss for the longest time now. But I wasn't ever to sure if it was worth it, do you have it on your rig?

I did this in my Yeti and I also did it in my bomber it helped a lot. I'm just thinking this might help the problem. I'm going to try this I'll report back my findings.

Can't you just put a spacer under the original? I'd rather not pay that much for a small chunk of alum. Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk |

Okay so I did the diff swap. I haven't had a chance to drive it but here are some photos of the inside of the case. I guess they were trying to stop us from swapping the gears inside the case as there's a small tab inside and only on one half of the case. I simply removed it with my razor knife here are the photos. |

This thread gave me some guts and I swapped out the diffs. I have driven it a little inside on carpet. From what I can tell it is either no different or a little worse. I plan on leaving it til I can get out and actually crawl with it. Was really hoping this was the answer. Sent from my LG-H900 using Tapatalk |

I'm assuming thats what an offset axle is all about - reducing load at the wheel due to torque reaction by extending the drive side / down side axle length? | |

The driver side now raises up. I have spacers under the rear links like the GCM truss. I just don't think with how soft the rear end is and how much the truck rotates right behind the skid that this may never go away. Sent from my LG-H900 using Tapatalk |

I wonder if we added a 1:1 gear box just behind the transmission to get the drive shafts spinning in opposite directions would solve the problem Sent from my LG-H900 using Tapatalk |

Had thoughts of doing this and making it an in and out box so you could have front dig. Do not know if it would be necessary, but it would be cool. Just not enough hours in the day. What really help my torque twist was sitting down and balancing the chassis, a good 50/50 cross weight made a world of difference. |

I will be running my first G6 this coming weekend. I hope to show everyone up with a truck that "shouldn't" be able to compete. If you plan on making a dig unit, you can count me in. I may have to see what I can fab up for the 1:1 gear box. I think if we can get the torque at the axles going in opposite directions, we would greatly increase the Hammers up/side hill capabilities. That is where I find I have the most problems compared to other rigs that have almost no torque twist. Sent from my LG-H900 using Tapatalk |
