| Twin hammers gearing question
I have a brushed 35t motor and need to know the best gearing for it to use mainly for crawling but also give it a little speed when needed? Currently looking at the Robinsons hardened spur gears with either 78T or 87T but which size pinion should I be looking for? Not going to use brushless motor so please dont recommend a change to this.

| Re: Twin hammers gearing question R/C Calculations Twin Hammers Gear Chart Using those two you can work things backward from the top speed you are after. I have a 35t pinion but you can't fit the spur cover on if you use it. 27t + 78t spur is probably a good fit for your high turn motor. 2s or 3s? |

If you mainly want to crawl then I'd try a 25 tooth pinion to start. This should give you plenty of crawlibility with a 35T. If you need more speed then step up to a 27 or 28.
