Sure have these motors are just as powerful as the brushless systems and are WAY more consistent! Also the drag brake and low speed resolution are worlds better than the brushless systems. |

I really had a good time running this motor at worlds. I picked up a 17t from Paul since my reedy stump puller was lacking bigtime in the drag brake dept. I wanted something with good brakes and plenty of grunt for the terrain we were running on and the 17t Crawler Mafia motor delivered! I ran it on Thunder Power 45c 2s Lipos with an 11 tooth pinion and the torque was insane!! The start up was super smooth and the speed was there when needed. Thanks again Paul! Like i said...there was no way I would have done as well as I did with my stump puller. Your motor saved my overall standings! |

I also had a good showing with this motor. This was my first ever 1.9 comp, and before this comp I had only 10 minutes of wheel time on the truck. I was running a 17t on a 12 tooth pinion and let me tell you this thing is fast, strong and very smooth, with excellent braking. This little truck with the 17t/12t has the wheelspeed of my 2.2 running pullers. If you are in need of a motor for your 1.9 I would highly recomend contacting Paul (Rock Hard) and getting one of his motors. I know he has spent a lot of time and money to find and build a motor that is what the crawling comunity is looking for. You won't be dissapointed. Thanks again Paul for letting me run/test your motors.

I got to put my grubby paws on these at Nats too, and the construction is superb. If you are looking for the finest handwound mini, this is the ticket here! More power than you will know what to do with!

I honestly don't know anyone who has ran a brushed motor on the mongoose esc.Though it does have a brushed profile, and should be fine to use. I myself would go with the sidewinder of the two.

So i recieved my Contraband 16 turn mini motor on monday, broke it in on tues and set the timing and adjudtments on my DX3r..Im running a mamba Micro ESC with 25c Hyperion 800..WOW ! this thing not only has amazing low end power but it is truly the smoothest crawling motor yet.. but hang on, when you stab the throttle, this thing will unleash mega RPMs to get you to the next gate in a HURRY..Im running flipped trans 60 spur and 10 tooth pinion..oh and dont forget about the braking in this little package..I can now hold steady on an incline compared to my stump puller...forward and reverse..all in all Thank you Paul for getting this motor in my hands..it is what I needed to comlete my MRC Y-Town Mini Beetlejuice build...WHOO HOO ! |

the torque is REALLY good..if I stab the skinny pedal it wants to pick up the front wheels..mind you the front wheels each have 10 oz of weight in them.. Overall I am very pleased with this motor..it just works!! I think the 16 turn are limited..so when this one dies I will have to try a different wind..Paul great job on these motors..To all who run these.. remember to keep the brushes and com clean.. |

What size battery is recommended to run these motors? I run a 360mAh 2s and I don't think they will last very long with your motor. I'd be afraid of puffing them. I'd like more torque as my Mongoose really fawkin sucks at low speed.

| I run a Thunder Power 325mAh 45c PRO POWER 2s lipo They are cheap, light and small. I can run 2 short/easy courses on one battery if I have to.But I try to just run one course on a battery. Last edited by rock hard; 10-11-2010 at 06:04 PM. |

That is close to what I run, but I was more or less asking if there were any issues with running such a small pack.... Voltage issues such as the motor being so power hungry that the small lipo can't feed it enough..

The only person I know of with a battery issue was Jeremy H. And he was runnning a 250 mah with a low c rating I think.

course 2 and 3[or the 2 on the high ground] I ran the same 325 mAh battery for both courses with no issue. After both courses the voltage was still above 6 volts.
